Monday, January 16, 2023 The weather forecast at this time is comfortable and pleasant weather for Monday, January 16, 2023. Area churches are requested to participate by offering church buses and vans to help transport participants. Lauderdale County participants will gather at 9:45 am at the Lauderdale County Courthouse, on Court Street in downtown Florence. Departure from the Courthouse is at 10:00 am. Colbert County participants will gather at 10:00 am at Gaston Chapel Primitive Baptist Church on 1112 SE 18th Street (Sterling Boulevard) Sheffield, AL, at the corner of Atlanta Avenue. Departure will be at 10:15 am to travel as a caravan to Russellville. In Russellville, everyone will gather in the parking lot of the Chucky Mullins Center, 814 Hamilton Street, Russellville, AL. The MLK March begins at the Chucky Mullins Center, beginning at 11:00 am. Law enforcement will be on hand to escort and protect the Marchers. The March will first go to the Franklin County Courthouse in downtown Russellville at 410 North Jackson Avenue in Russellville. After a word of prayer, it will then continue to the A.W. Todd Center, located at the corner of 201 N. Washington Avenue and Montgomery Street SE in Russellville The MLK Tribute Program at the A.W. Todd Center (201 N. Washington Ave) is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon, with a program of local speakers, including youth, musical entertainment, and a delicious free lunch will be served. Sales of the new 2023 MLK T-Shirts will be available.
MLK Scholarship Banquet

You are invited to purchase a ticket to attend the MLK Scholarship Banquet at the campus of the University of North Alabama in the Banquet Hall of the Guillot University Center, upper floor.
Tickets per Seat/Plate are $40 each.
Group Sitting is available if a Table is reserved. Tables that will seat 8 people are at $320 each.
No tickets are available for sale on site at the Banquet.
The Banquet will occur from 6 pm to 9 pm.
